Mentally computing

Yes, as the title suggests, I am now in mental computing mode! Here is a snapshot of how my mind works. With me, I can get a sudden idea, might be through gaining inspiration from something around me (and trust me, it can seem totally irrelevant) only to then have my ancient brain firing up on all cylinders, coming up with something weird and wonderful whilst I am pacing, tripping over my bottom lip thinking that I am getting nothing. Yes, I realise that this (A) sounds like utter gobbledegook or (B) it plainly fails to make any sense at all, but hey, that is how my swiss-cheese brain seems to work. Rather than one big supercomputer dealing with one thing at a time, I appear to have several smaller computers all working independently that somehow, at some point, all come together all of a sudden leaving me, having been given an outline - to colour in and add all the fine details. This will happen time and time again, with me finessing the story at each stage until I can sit back and think, 'Yes, it flows beautifully, it has rhythm, it's descriptive and it is easy to read aloud. Trust me, that last bit - the, 'easy to read aloud' bit, is important to me, because if I can't read it without stumbling over the words, I know something isn't working and that means going back to the page for more finessing. Yes, I really am THAT picky. Thus endeth my blogeth todayeth!!!
