Who'd-a-thunket, eh? Drawing a simple little fairy for my book, Welcome to Wellinever! would turn out to be such a darned chore. For some bizarre reason, the fairy in my head and the fairy (I use that term loosely in this case) that appears on my computer screen, are poles apart! Fairy Leaf-Hat keeps turning out looking like a drag queen (and trust me, that ain't the look I am going for!) On a side note, I am listening to, 'The Original High' by Adam Lambert - perhaps it is Adam's vibe coming through via my artwork. Although, in saying that, if fairy Leaf-Hat looked half as good as Adam Lambert, she would still look better than the dodgy looking man-woman she currently resembles. I am going to have to change tack and channel my spirit helpers to sort this winged abomination out - I want her to delight children, not send them running for the comfort of a dark closet! Yes, she is THAT disturbing, well, I think so anyway and no - you are not seeing her until she looks sweet and kind and not as though she might get a whip out to you at any minute. Perhaps I should be listening to something a bit more 'floaty' on iTunes. I like Adam Lambert, though. I know, odd choice for a 60 year-old but let's face it, I am an odd 60 year-old. At least I am not playing, Smack my Bitch Up by the Prodigy! although, lord knows, it might be more appropriate for the current incarnation of Fairy Whip-Lash :-)
